The Services

Supawiki provides a platform to organize the knowledge provided by the user in a form that can be referenced, also known as a wiki.

This platform is provided to the user in the form of websites, hereby denominated Services.

General information on data processing

We collect and use your personal data only to the extent necessary to provide a functional website and our content and Services and only with your consent. An exception applies in those cases in which prior consent cannot be obtained for actual reasons and the processing of the data is permitted by statutory provisions.

When you contact us by e-mail or via our contact form, the data you provide (your e-mail address, your name) will be stored by us in order to answer your questions. The data collected in this context will be deleted after the storage is no longer necessary, or the processing will be restricted if there are legal retention periods.

We process your data (1) to provide the Services to you pursuant to our contract with you; (2) in furtherance of its legitimate interests in operating our Services and business; and (3) with your consent. In some cases, We may process your data to comply with applicable law, legal process, or regulation; protect any person from death or serious bodily injury; or to carry out a task in the public interest.

Examples of processing your data to provide you with the Services include:

  • Providing, updating, maintaining, and protecting our Services and business. For example, we host your files, back them up, and share them when you ask us to. We also analyze how you use the Services to help you prioritize your content and stay on top of your most important work;
  • Troubleshooting issues you may encounter with the Services. If you contact us with questions or concerns about the Services, we may use your personal information to respond;
  • Billing, account management, and administrative purposes. If you sign up for a trial or purchase a paid plan, we may collect and process payment information, including your name, credit or debit card information, billing address, and details of your transaction history;
  • Sending you emails and other communications. We may contact you about important changes to our Services and Service-related notices. These communications are considered part of the Services and you may not opt out of them.

Examples of processing your data in furtherance of its legitimate interests in operating our Services and business include:

  • Understanding how you use our Services and improving them;
  • Promoting Services that are most relevant to your interests;
  • Investigating and preventing security issues and abuse of the Services or users.

  • Sending you marketing materials about our Services. If you do not wish to receive these materials, simply click the “unsubscribe” link in any email, or update your preferences in the preferences section of your account;
  • Connecting your account with other third-party services;
  • Collecting feedback from you to improve our Services and develop new features.

Collection of access data and log files

We host our online offers at Digital Ocean. By doing so, we agree and comply with Digital Ocean’s Data Processing Agreement.

An entry in the access log of the web server contains the following data:

  • The first line of the request (“Request Header”);
  • Date and time of the request;
  • Amount of data transferred;
  • Status code of the web server;
  • IP address of the requesting computer;
  • Description of the web browser used;
  • Referring page.

Log file information is stored for a maximum of sixty days for security reasons (e.g. to investigate abuse or fraud) and then deleted. Data whose further storage is necessary for evidence purposes are excluded from deletion until the respective incident has been finally clarified.

Data transfer

We only pass on personal data to third parties if there is another legal basis for this transfer.

Other applications.

You can choose to connect your account with third-party services — for example, to load markdown files from a git repository. By doing so, you’re enabling Supawiki and those third parties to exchange information about you and data in your account so that Supawiki and those third parties can provide, improve, protect, and promote their services. Please remember that third parties’ use of your information will be governed by their own privacy policies and terms of service.

Your rights

You have the following rights against us with regard to your personal data:

  • Right to information;
  • Right to rectification or deletion;
  • Right to limit the processing;
  • Right to object to the processing;
  • Right to transfer data.

You also have the right to complain to a data protection supervisory authority about the processing of your personal data by us.

Deletion of data

The data stored with us are deleted as soon as they are no longer required for the actual purpose.

Use of cookies

This website uses the following types of cookies, the scope and function of which are explained below:

  • Session cookies

They store a so-called “session ID”, which can be used to assign various requests from your browser to the shared session. This enables your computer to be recognized when you return to our website. The session cookies expire after a few days, typically between one and seven days, when they are deleted.

  • Policy consent cookies

Policy consent cookies record that the user expressed agreement with the privacy policy and the cookies policy. They are automatically deleted after a specified period, typically between seven and thirty days, or when the user logs out of the site.

You can delete cookies at any time in the security settings of your browser.

You can configure your browser settings according to your wishes and, for example, refuse to accept cookies. We would like to point out that you may then not be able to use all the functions of this website.

Use of AWStats as web analysis software

In order to evaluate our website statistically, we use the program AWStats. The statistics we obtain allow us to improve our Services and make it more interesting for you as a user. AWStats evaluates log files that our web server creates on the basis of visitor requests. The program does not use any cookie files for the evaluation. The statistical analysis is carried out via the log files, which also contain IP addresses (see section Collection of access data and log files). As a rule, these data cannot be assigned to specific persons. This data is not merged with other data sources. The data will not be passed on to third parties. The data will also be overwritten after a statistical evaluation and deleted after sixty days at the latest. In contrast to other statistical programs, AWStats does not transmit data to an external server.

AWStats is configured to use the GeoLite2 data created by MaxMind to evaluate the country of origin of the IP trying to access the Services. The GeoLite2 data is available from https://www.maxmind.com.

The AWStats program is an open source project. Information from the third party provider on data protection can be found at https://www.awstats.org.

Use of Llama 2 large language model

Supawiki implements an artificial intelligence assistant based on Llama 2, an open source large language model made available by Meta.

Llama 2 is licensed under the LLAMA 2 Community License, Copyright © Meta Platforms, Inc. All Rights Reserved.

All data used with Supawiki's AI assistant is processed locally. No data is sent to third parties.

Supawiki use of the Llama Materials complies with applicable laws and regulations (including trade compliance laws and regulations) and adhere to the Acceptable Use Policy for the Llama Materials.

Changes

If we’re involved in a reorganization, merger, acquisition, or sale of our assets, your data may be transferred as part of that deal. We’ll notify you (for example, via a message to the email address associated with your account) of any such deal and outline your choices in that event.

We may revise this Privacy Policy from time to time, and will post the most current version on our website. If a revision meaningfully reduces your rights, we will notify you.
